The major issue is groundwater contamination with mostly volatile organic compounds which were used as solvents or degreasers by five different companies: Spra-Fin, Inc., a metal manufacturing and finishing business; Former Ford Electronics and Refrigeration Corp. which manufactured electrical autoparts; Teleflex, Inc. which manufactured mechanical, electrical and pneumatic controls for aircraft; Former Leeds and Northrup, Inc. which manufactured electronic instruments; and Former Zenith Electronic, Corp. which manufactured television picture tubes.
