OLD COUNTY RD

The Harvey & Knott Drum site was an open dump and burning area between 1963 and 1969 on a portion of a 20-acre site. The facility accepted municipal and industrial wastes believed to be sludge, paint pigments, and solvents. Wastes were emptied into trenches or left in drums, some buried on site. The site is several hundred feet back from the highway in an open field and about 300 people live within one mile.
