The North Penn 7 site is located in North Wales, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and it covers about 650 acres, encompassing five industrial facility properties. The major issue is groundwater contamination with mostly volatile organic compounds which were used as solvents or degreasers by five different companies: Spra-Fin, Inc., a metal manufacturing and finishing business; Former Ford Electronics and Refrigeration Corp. which manufactured electrical autoparts; Teleflex, Inc. which manufactured mechanical, electrical and pneumatic controls for aircraft; Former Leeds and Northrup, Inc. which manufactured electronic instruments; and Former Zenith Electronic, Corp. which manufactured television picture tubes.
